My work is generally about fantasy and imagination. My painting incorporates atmosphere, attention to detail, with organic images and patterns. The natural forms are memories of garden inspiration.

Ray Dugas, a retired Auburn University professor who taught illustration and graphic design, has practiced in those fields and in the field of painting for more than 39 years. His illustration work has been published in Time, Cooking Light, New York, The Shareholder, Southern Markets and Media, Show South and Baptist Today magazines, The Best Fed Dog in America Cookbook, and the IBM Multi-media newsletter. He has illustrated posters for the Atlanta Jazz Festival and the Decatur Arts Festival (Ga.), Graphics Group Inc., and most extensively for IBM Occupational Services. His painting work has been recognized by the Montgomery Art Guild with the 2013 Museum Director’s award for painting and the ArtBeat.com award in 2000. His work also received the first place award in transparent painting from the Montgomery Museum of Art Annual show in 2006. His artwork is in held in numerous private collections.
